Global Market Dynamics

The Global Market Dynamics Investment Academy sessions and Plenary armchair discussions will examine key trends in global trade and investment. Senior U.S. government officials, executives of multinational corporations, and industry experts will shed light on pressing topics such as the future of work, the innovation economy, supply chain optimization, and implications of multilateral trade agreements. The Investment Summit will also feature regional and market-specific programming for more targeted educational and networking opportunities.

SelectUSA Tech

SelectUSA Tech Investment Academy sessions are designed for early-stage and startup technology companies interested in landing in the United States. SelectUSA Tech sessions will explore investment trends and opportunities in emerging technology, such as 5G, commercial space, energy storage, MedTech, semiconductors, smart city technology, and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)/Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). SelectUSA Tech programming at the Investment Summit will also include pitching sessions organized by subsector, as well as workshops for entrepreneurs on how to make an effective pitch, fundraise, and scale in the United States. This year’s program will also feature sessions specifically geared towards female founders in tech under the Select Global Women in Tech banner.

Industry Spotlight

Industry Spotlight sessions are deep-dives on investment opportunities and trends by sector. Prospective investors will have the opportunity to attend Industry Spotlight Investment Academy sessions and sessions featuring EDOs from across the country in the first-ever Industry Road Trip. Featured industries will include advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defense, automotive, chemicals, consumer goods, design and construction services, energy, food and beverage, healthcare, and more. Representatives from industry, academia, and the economic development community will explain how international companies can develop partnerships and plug into the U.S. market.

Programming for U.S. Economic Development Officials (EDO)

Programming for EDOs will consist of workshops and Investment Academy sessions tailored to EDOs interested in attracting foreign investment to their region. Interactive virtual sessions hosted by SelectUSA partners will cover topics including: how to build a client base, attract international investors with a limited budget, develop economic resiliency at the local level, and effectively engage in investment aftercare.

SelectUSA Investor Guide

SelectUSA Investor Guide Investment Academy sessions are designed to provide practical information to companies on what they need to know in order to successfully expand their business into the United States. The SelectUSA Investor Guide Investment Academy sessions will address the most commonly asked questions about U.S. expansion, such as banking in the United States, business incentives and grants, business structuring, intellectual property protections, market entry, site selection, taxes at the state and local level, and visas. SelectUSA Investor Guide Investment Academy sessions will also address prospective investor questions about employment laws, finding a workforce, plugging into training and apprenticeship programs, and partnering with state and local governments.
